The artist, elaineMARK is very well known for her artistic talents and her use of wire to create her line of "miniMARKs / bookMARKs" which has been on the market now for the last 5 years. This also includes a cross mix of other fun SCHTUFF - magnets, greeting cards, table wares - placecardMARKers, napkin rings, etc. Her products are available in select gift/stationery stores across Canada.
She started out designing at a very young age - designing and giving gifts of handmade cards, bookmarks & gifts of art in varying forms. Who knew that through the given course of life in varying artistic areas would she come back to what she always envisioned as a young vibrant child. Color, lines, design, images, everything that this artistically curious kid could imagine was placed in front of her and the creating started. This continued and thus now creating from all these great tools formed a passion for all things DESIGN. Photography, makeup artistry, jewelry design, fashion design, interior design, painting, drawing. Trained in Fashion Design & Merchandising in 1990, she continued this endeavor in many forms and brought her full circle back to what she started with as a girl of 5 years old. New URBAN Organics line hails from the new fondness of flowers and nature that are abundant in the studio. It is now about sculpting the ornate flowers that she has in her home. Capturing the blooms' short life span on camera, immersing herself into the depth of light and color that exudes, then fully entranced, start shaping and sculpting these into the modern masterpieces that they are. Only 1 or 2 pieces of wire is used to "mold" these anomalies into the beauties they become. From orchids to cherry blossoms, amaryllis and lillies, to other pieces that are yet to be formed from the imagination. Each created from a vision of this artist.
Elaine's pastimes include being a self confessed "book" junkie and would have about 3 to 5 books on the go (hence the reason why all the minimarks are grouped in 3's or more). Artistically to draw, paint and her natural ability to use her hands in sculpting with the wire she has so deftly used in the past 5 years. There is a NEWNESS of spirit though, and that is to incorporate the many missions that are on her list. Charitable work in varying areas that allow her to contribute through her work - and supporting LITERACY. With select packages of miniMARKs, part proceeds go towards LITERACY in Canada.
